5 Smoothie Recipes to Put a Spring in Your Step

Hearty Fruit and Oat Smoothie
Not all smoothies are filling enough to be meal replacements, but this one is up to the task. To make, blend 1 cup quartered strawberries, 1 sliced banana, 1/4 cup raw almonds, 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats, 1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt, and 1 teaspoon maple syrup. For an even more filling meal, top with 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds or walnuts).

Mango and Yogurt Smoothie
Tangy yogurt and a twinge of lime give this mango smoothie its bite. To make, blend 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 1/2 cups low-fat plain yogurt, 2 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks, 1 tablespoon honey, and juice from half a lime.

Green Ginger-Peach Smoothie
Fruit and veggies? You bet! You won't even taste the greens in this sweet-and-spicy concoction. To make, blend 2 handfuls baby spinach, 1 teaspoon grated peeled fresh ginger, 2 cups frozen sliced peaches, 2 teaspoons honey, and 1 1/4 cups water.

Tropical Blueberry Smoothie
Pineapple and fresh citrus give a classic berry smoothie a tropical twist. To make, blend 2 teaspoons sugar, 1 cup chopped pineapple, 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries, 1 orange (seeded and cut into quarters), and 1/2-3/4 cup water.

Strawberry, Mango and Yogurt Smoothie
The key to creating the perfect smoothie? The ratio of fruit to...everything else. This one can be adapted for any flavor you enjoy. To make our version, blend 1 1/4 cups apple juice, 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt, 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries and 2 cups fresh or frozen mango chunks.
